Detroit is one of the finalist cities bidding on the 2014-2016 summer X-Games. It has come down to the line with a few big cities  battling for this international event. Less then 48hrs for the final proposals and weeks till the decision.

Detroit has been fighting to make a comeback with major obstacles blocking its path for a while now. With the help from the community and local companies its starting to show enough improvement to get noticed by people around the country. If you have ever been to one of our sporting events you know Detroiters have a lot of passion. This passion is now spreading throughout the community as a whole.  Winning the X-Games would mean a lot for the city and the publicity would help its image.

I do not know the plans for the x-games if they were hosted in city.  But we have plenty of prime space to have this event. Detroit needs more landmarks/destinations to draw tourist to the city and if they made a X-Games pro level skate park permanent it would be one amazing attraction. Gov. Rick Snider proposed a 924 mile bike trail earlier this year from Belle Isle in Detroit to Wisconsin. The Skate Park could be the beginning or the end to one of the most Extreme biking adventure found in the world. The Upper Peninsula already has some of the best off-road trails in the country which host major biking events.

ESPN is watching each city for the final decision. Show your support for the X-Games 2 Detroit!
