NewCo was founded by John Battelle and Brian Monahan in 2012. NewCo’s mission is to “connect and celebrate the companies, people and practices that create a positive and sustainable approach to business in today’s modern working city.” NewCo is a conference where business professionals support the community by coming together. This is an opportunity for everyday individuals to meet with companies that they may not normally have the chance too. This is an event experience to mashup companies in an open studio for individuals to tour. You pick which sessions or companies that you’d like to see.
Some participating companies included Team Detroit, Shinola Detroit, Skidmore Studio, Ponyride, Detroit Labs and TechTown Detroit. A full list of participating companies are found here.
