NAIAS rolled into town once again bringing huge crowds of automotive enthusiast into Detroit. One afterparty you don’t want to miss is the Middlecott Sketchbattle Experiment™.
13 contestants fought in a three rounds Sketch Battle to prove they are the best young industrial designer in Detroit. First round was sedans, second pick-ups, and third was sports cars.
Judges this year were Camilo Pardo, Ford GT designer & winner of the T.V. show “Motor City Masters”, Dan Darancou, VP of Design at CH-Auto in China, and Robert Walker, Chief Designer Interiors JEEP Brand.
This years winner was Darby Barber; a talented CCS student who recently came close to winning top designer on the T.V. show “Motor City Masters”. She received a trophy made by Mobsteel.
All proceeds from the Middlecott Sketchbattle Experiment goes to the Sauvé Art Foundation. All contestants received free software from Autodesk.
