Middlecott SketchBattle JR was last weekend. Around 80 kids grades 7 to 12 participated in this years transportation design competition at Newlab Detroit. The events theme was “Design Your Heros Vehicle”.

I wish there was an event like this when I was growing up. Besides the competition they had a kids sketching workshop to warmup with professional mentors from GM, Ford, and Stellantis designers, CCS and Lawrence Tech professors.

While the children warmed up they had a panel discussion and Q & A session on different design education directions along with career paths for their parents.
