Luminar Neo & Fujifilm photo walk in Detroit

Friday Luminar Neo & Fujifilm sponsored photo walk downtown Detroit kicking off at Capital Park.

This was my first time editing photos with Luminar Neo. It’s a competitor to Adobe photoshop (PS) & Lightroom (LR). Being kinda a mixture of both programs with some strong upgrades along with some negatives. Luminar Neo can also be used as a plug-in in Adobe PS or LR. Depending on your needs will determine if it’s right for you.

Currently I am searching for a new editing program and was hoping this would be able to fill the role. I have been using Adobe LightRoom for a very long time but

As I just downloaded the 14 day trial they gave us the event I will not go into detail about the program. But I will at a later date. I would say after the 14 days trial …BUT just a day after I downloaded it the counter dropped from 14 days to 6 days left.

I also got a quick look at the new Fujifilm X100VI and GFX 100ii. I would love to tested them out and run them through the paces. They both sit in very niche areas but one many might fit into.

The Fujifilm x100 VI is a 40 MP crop sensor with a fixed 35mm lens camera with very advanced features. Photographers always see great shots that they would love to capture like taking a few shots at an event to post, but don’t want to lug your large heavy camera setup every place they go. I use to take my old camera with a 40mm f2.8 pancake lens with me to smaller events for this exact reason although it was still with a bulky pro body. 35mm is quite useable in most situations.

The few minutes I had it in my hand the focus seemed lightning quick with eye Autofocus (AF) instantly locking on to subject. I did have some extremely noticeable shutter lag but it was dark and I didn’t look at the settings at all.

Now the new FujiFilm GFX 100ii is on the whole other side of the spectrum. 100MP Medium format camera takes the format to new directions as it can shoot at far faster speeds than your average one in its segement. FuljiFilm likes to call it large format since it is on the smaller size of medium format traditionally used. But far larger than Full Frame (FF). Those who knock the sensor size fail to ever bring up the direct competition & top medium format company Hasselblad also used not just the same sized sensor in their smaller mirrorless cameras, but the EXACT same sensor which is produced by Sony.

Is anyone interested in a Downtown Detroit Photowalk? I had a lot of fun meeting & hanging out with photographers and just taking photos.
